Landscape archaeology represents an indispensable tool for understanding the evolution of both the territory and the livelihood strategies adopted over the centuries. A reappraisal of previous studies, surface data, and the archaeological scenario of the Palestinian region of the earliest Iron Age led to a reinterpretation of the settlement system shedding light on connections, perspectives, and strategies, placing the surrounding environment and the needs of local communities at the center of the debate.

Abstract

Landscape archaeology represents an indispensable tool for understanding the evolution of both the territory and the livelihood strategies adopted over the centuries. A reappraisal of previous studies, surface data, and the archaeological scenario of the Palestinian region of the earliest Iron Age led to a reinterpretation of the settlement system shedding light on connections, perspectives, and strategies, placing the surrounding environment and the needs of local communities at the center of the debate.
